Spreading Hope & Care
Critical Kindness is dedicated to uplifting ICU patients by providing care kits that comfort and support during their challenging times. We engage with patients, listening to their experiences and alleviating feelings of isolation and boredom, ultimately boosting their morale and making them feel truly seen. Our mission is to bring comfort and support to those in need, spreading hope and kindness in their challenging times.

A study by Koster et al in 2023 revealed that out of 6 ICU patients studied, all experienced extreme loneliness and a sense of captivity. In a cross-sectional study by Mekoya et al., out of 397 patients, more than half of them experienced feelings of loneliness. Along with this, greater social isolation has generally been associated with a higher count of post-ICU disabilities, with the most severe loneliness leading to a 50% higher disability burden.

With these statistics, it is a must that something is done to alleviate these feelings in ICU patients, which is exactly what Critical Kindness aims to do.
